Harnessing the limitless energy of students.

U.S. school districts spend $6 billion on energy every year—more than they spend on textbooks and computers combined.

In some states, including California, school districts have money to modernize their facilities. Prop 39, Prop 51, and local bond measures made billions of dollars available to improve energy efficiency in schools.

But simply upgrading facilities isn’t enough to create lasting change. At lumeo, we asked ourselves this basic question: If Clean Technology is one of the fastest growing job markets in the nation, and schools across the nation are investing in Clean Technology to save money, why aren’t students involved in these projects?

With lumeo, they are. All our energy upgrades include project-based learning, internships, and apprenticeships.

Our project-based learning is aligned with Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, and Career Technical Education, and is designed for 4–8th grade. For high school, our internship program gives students real-world experience and work-based learning.
